Election Process
- The DEA President will inform the members when nominations are being accepted.
- If a member wants to be nominated, they need to send an email by the due date.
- After the due date, the Election Committee will alert the participating schools of the election.
- Example: Building Representative elections are only done in the building.
- Example: Officers and Chair elections are done in every building.
- On the day of the voting, all due-paying members will meet at a pre-determined location to receive their ballot.
- The Election Committee has a list to verify who can receive a ballot to vote.
- Unfortunately, anyone not in attendance will not be able to vote.
- The member must fill out their ballot completely and give it to the Election Committee.
- After the time ends, the Election Committee will secure the ballots and lock them in a secure area.
- If it is a Building Representative election, the ballots may be counted after the time ends.
- The Election Committee will meet and count the ballots.
- One committee member will read the ballots.
- Two committee members will tally the ballots.
- They will ensure that both members have the same results and the correct number of ballots.
- After the results are verified, they will send the results to the DEA President.
- After the DEA President has verified the results, the Election Committee will notify the members.
